In order to accomplish our course objectives, STTS will bring to your facility and array of cargo tank replicas, valves, and fittings, specialized training modules and demonstrations.
The training replicas are working models that demonstrate the operations of each cargo tank, as well as the differences and safety devices associate with the tanks.
Cargo Tank Replicas include: MC-306, 307, 312 and 331 specification tanks and DOT-406, 407, and 412 cargo tanks.
Note: These replicas can now be purchased! Please visit this page for more information.
In addition to the Cargo Tank Replicas, STTS has also designed numerous exercises to demonstrate liquid and vapor dynamics and the properties of compressed gases. All of these unique innovations are used effectively to re-enforce and demonstrate concepts taught in the classroom.
MC-306
Displaying cable operated internal with push vent, vapor recovery, strong back dome assembly, double bulkheads and old style baffles.
DOT-406
Displaying pneumatic operated internal valve, pneumatic push vent, vapor recovery system, new style baffles with single wing nut.
MC-307/DOT-407
Displays the crash box and dome assembly with Girard pressure and vacuum vents. By changing the vents STTS is able to demonstrate some of the differences between the MC and DOT requirement. The lower shell displays the hydraulic internal valve and quick release bonnet or QRB external valve.
MC-312
These slightly different angles demonstrate the standpipe unloading system commonly used with the MC-312. This module also displays the spring operated pressure relief devise being protected by a rupture disc. Tube type crash protection is utilized as well.
DOT-412
These slightly different angles demonstrate the standpipe unloading system commonly used with the DOT-412. This module also displays a spring operated pressure relief devise that is Teflon lined.
MC-331
This module displays the cable activated Fisher valves on the pump and spray fill lines. Both the left front and right rear emergency remote shutdowns are functional as well. The pressure, temperature, percentage gauges, also shown along with fixed level valves.
Glass Tank Trucks
These unique tank truck models are highly effective in demonstrating liquid and vapor dynamics and tank to tank transfer techniques.
Hydrometer
The hydrometer is a training prop that was developed to allow the students to view propane in its liquid state. By releasing the pressure or flaring the propane the class can easily observe the reaction of the propane.
Miscellaneous Props, Valves & Accessories
This collection of classroom props, valves and accessories is used to emphasize the differences and operating principles of each tank.

Be a Workshop Host!
If your department has a limited budget or only needs to train a small number of individuals, then our “Host” Program may be perfect. Each year STTS conducts a limited number of “Open Enrollment Tank Truck Emergency Response Workshops” that welcomes individuals and small groups. IN order for us to conduct these classes we are always looking for “Hosts” or departments who are willing to open up their classrooms to both STTS and outside students from other departments and industry.
In order to facilitate these classes we are currently seeking potential hosts. To qualify as a host you must have a suitable facility, (see Facility Requirements), and be willing to enroll at least 10 students from your department or organization in the class at the “Advance Discount Registration Fee” of $399.00 per student. In exchange for your services as a host you will receive an additional 2 slots in the class at no charge.
Hosts duties are normally limited to communicating with your STTS Representative regarding local lodging, directions, and facility accommodations. STTS takes full responsibility for organizing, and marketing the class as well as accepting registrations and conducting the training.
